Tottenham are chasing Manchester United youngster Zeki Fryers.
The Mirror says United aim to tie defender Fryers to a new deal - to stop him joining a potential exodus of kids from Old Trafford.
The 19-year-old, who is fancied by Tottenham, has been stalling for months.
But insiders believe boss Sir Alex Ferguson will finally get him to commit within days.
