Manchester United have reportedly dropped a TV interview done by Carlos Tevez discussing his future at Old Trafford.
The People says the Old Trafford hierarchy pulled the plug on a section of the MUTV recording after Tevez voiced his feelings about his future.
Boss Sir Alex Ferguson DOES want Tevez to stay, but is understood to feel the club are being held to ransom by agent Kia Joorabchian, who is demanding a £27million fee for the South American.
United have paid £6m to have Tevez on 'loan' from his third-party owners, MSI, for two seasons on the understanding they had first option on the Argentinian when the deal ran out.
Tevez was at pains to point out to fans that he would play for United regardless of whatever money the club were offering him, but when the interview took place he said that no contract had been put in front of him and things were likely to stay uncertain until the end of the season.
However, that proved too much for senior United officials, who were alerted to the comments made by Tevez to MUTV's interviewer and the 'offending' section was edited out. A source close to the player said last night: "Carlos wants to make it clear to fans that he personally is not demanding unrealistic money to sign for United but he cannot influence negotiations between his owners and United.
"He wants to stay at Old Trafford because he is happy at the club and nothing would make him happier than to stay a few more years at United."
