Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson has given his Celtic counterpart Gordon Strachan scouting data on Aalborg. Strachan revealed little saying: "Sir Alex said Aalborg's pitch was fantastic.

"Watch what I was doing with the wine because I'd spilled some! We spoke about one or two things Martin (Ferguson, Fergie's brother and Chief Scout) had told him so yes, he passed on some info.

"I watched Aalborg's last domestic game and they are more compact in midfield since their change of manager.

"They are a big side and that has to be a factor in our team selection.

"I liked how we performed in Villarreal but Aalborg play differently and we don't have the same choices due to injuries.

"We may think this is a great chance to win away but they will see it as a real possibility to win their first home game."
