Manchester United have picked up the phone and called Chelsea to ask what are the chances they can sign Willian in January.
The Brazilian has featured sporadically in the past two seasons under Antonio Conte. But speaking after the Blues midweek win over Huddersfield, he said he was happy with being at Stamford Bridge.
Despite this, United and Jose Mourinho have sensed an opportunity; with the World Cup approaching, Willian is more inclined to push through a deal as he'll need playing time to prove his worth to Brazil coach, Tite.
Mourinho signed Willian from Shahktar Donestk in 2013 and helped him develop into a star for the Blues.
The Portuguese is being given funds to boost his squad in order to provide some challenge to runaway league leaders, Manchester City, and believes Willian can provide a boost to his midfield.
