Chelsea winger Joe Cole will delay a decision over his future until after the World Cup.
The London Evening Standard says Manchester City appeared to be the favourites last month after the midfielder told close friends he wanted them to finish fourth above Spurs and they are willing to pay him more than £100,000-a-week.
But rivals Manchester United and Arsenal have come back into the hunt following Robert Mancini's side failure to qualify for the Champions League.
It is expected that no announcement will be made regarding Cole's future until after England return home from the World Cup.
