Man Utd, Arsenal lead battle for Rangers starlet Billy Gilmour

Arsenal and Manchester United are chasing Rangers starlet Billy Gilmour.

The Mirror says Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United are battling it out to try and prise Scottish starlet Gilmour away from Rangers.

The Premier League quartet are all keen on Gilmour, 15, who is the focus of their scouts' attention at the annual Victory Shield tournament which is currently taking place in Edinburgh.

The midfielder is rated by some north of the border as one of the best young prospects Scotland have produced in the last two decades.

Chelsea and City's academies, who contested the last two FA Youth Cup finals, are now considered the best in England and want to add Gilmour to their ranks.

United are understood to be keen to make a statement by landing Gilmour after losing their reputation as the leading club at youth level.
