Manchester United made a formal approach to PSG this summer about a deal for Kylian Mbappe.

The Mirror says United made an approach for Mbappe in this summer's transfer window - but were flatly rebuked.

The Red Devils strengthened in just three areas bringing in Brazilian midfielder Fred, back-up goalkeeper Lee Grant and right-back prospect Diogo Dalot.

United approached Paris Saint-Germain over their star asset Mbappe, after he won the World Cup with France.

But the Ligue 1 club immediately rebuked their interest, making it clear they would not be selling the forward they bought for £160million for any amount.
