Man Utd to appeal Nani Champions League ban

Manchester United are to appeal Nani's Champions League ban.

The Telegraph says United have attempted to save Nani from a three-match Champions League suspension by submitting detailed mitigation to Uefa ahead of Thursday's disciplinary review of the winger's contentious red card against Real Madrid.

Nani will face an automatic one-match suspension as a result of the dismissal, but a Uefa regulatory commission has the power to increase the ban to as many as three games if the challenge on Alvaro Arbeloa is judged to have been violent conduct.
