Manchester United have reportedly come to an agreement with Villarreal over a fee for Eric Bailly.
According to One World Sports, the Red Devils have agreed a €35million (£27.4m) for the highly-rated central defender.
It is understood that new United manager Jose Mourinho sees the Ivory Coast international as one of the most promising centre-backs in Europe and is prepared to pay good money to lure him to Old Trafford.
Bailly's versatility, in that he can play anywhere across the back four, also makes him attractive to Mourinho who wants to work with a talented young defender at United like he did with Raphael Varane at Real Madrid and Kurt Zouma at Chelsea.
The 22-year-old is also on the radar of Manchester City, Arsenal, Barcelona and Bayern Munich but United are confident they can get the deal done.
Additionally, the Daily Mail reports that the Red Devils will pay £18m upfront and a further £12m in add-ons and bonuses which would make it a £30m transfer for the former Espanyol youngster.
