Man Utd to allow Welbeck to extend Sunderland loan into next term

Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck is set to extend his loan with Sunderland into next season.

The Daily Mail says England Under 21 striker Welbeck, who is set for his first start for a month against Liverpool on Sunday, has been a revelation on Wearside but Sir Alex Ferguson has told Bruce to forget about signing him permanently.

Bruce, who was prepared to offer £10million for the 20-year-old, will be happy with a compromise second loan deal which will give Welbeck 12 more months of regular first team action.

The striker is keen to see the deal done as he has enjoyed his time on Wearside.
