Manchester United will confirm the signing of Borussia Dortmund star Shinji Kagawa this week. The Manchester Evening News says United are expected to announce the £14m arrival of the Japanese international in the next 48 hours.

United have already missed out on Eden Hazard as Ferguson looks for long-term replacements for Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs.

That is why they were so determined to secure the signature of Kagawa, who scored 14 goals last season.
