Manchester United have moved ahead of Liverpool in the race for Cagliari defender Davide Astori. Italian transfer market experts, AlfredoPedulla.com reports United have organised intermediaries to open talks with Cagliari for the Italy international. The Premier League champs are planning a bid of €13 million for the defender.
Liverpool are also interested in Astori, but won't move until they have funds from the sale of Luis Suarez.
