Man Utd ace van Persie not worried about Holland scoring record

Robin van Persie insists he is not focused on Holland's all-time goalscoring record after moving to third place on the list.

The Manchester United star netted his 35th goal for the Oranje in their 2-0 win over ten-man China on Tuesday, putting him even with Faas Wilkes and Ruud van Nistelrooy, two short of ex-Arsenal ace Dennis Bergkamp and five behind number one Patrick Kluivert.

However, this record is something van Persie is not worried too much about as he would rather achieve success with Holland than win individual accolades.

"The fact that I made my 35th goal isn't that important. It's a nice extra but we have to focus on our matches," he told SBS6.

"It sounds weird, but we didn't hope for [the red card]. We wanted to make a real contest of this match."
