Manchester United ace Robin van Persie has explained why fans won't see him plastered across billboards around the world.

RVP, who has just been appointed captain of Holland, revealed he has passed up the chance to earn millions from product endorsements.

The ex-Arsenal ace said: "A great deal of offers come my way but I am the type of person who limits what I do.

"I don't do many things like this. When I do something it is only because I support it entirely.

"I look to see whether it is something that sends a good message to young people.

"I ignore a great deal of them as I don't want to spend much time on them. The sporting aspect of my career comes first."
