Wayne Rooney has urged his England teammates to do everything in their power to turn the fortunes of the national team around at Euro2012.
The Three Lions have badly underperformed at the 2010 and 2006 World Cups as well as failing to qualify for Euro2008 and Manchester United star Rooney is hoping things can be different in Poland and Ukraine.
"We understand that playing for England you are there to be shot at. So we need to make sure that we give our all.
"I think it's important that it comes across that we are trying and we are not just turning up and not trying. We do try and win and sometimes if it's not good enough then you've got to hold your hands up. But we are trying to win and that passion is there with the players, the same as with the fans.""We know as players that we are expected to do better than what we have done in recent years," he said.
