Manchester United ace Wayne Rooney has pencilled in their clash with Liverpool as his comeback date. The Daily Star says Rooney is working flat out to return from his nightmare injury with a trip back to the red half of Merseyside.

The Manchester United striker, 26, who needed THIRTY-SEVEN stitches in his thigh gash, would love to make his comeback at Liverpool on September 23 - after his clash with Fulham's Hugo Rodallega.
