Manchester United's England captain Wayne Rooney still enjoys a kickaround with mates.
Rooney's status does not stop him enjoying kickabouts and playing keepy-uppy on the streets of Croxteth when he goes back to Merseyside and meets up with childhood mates.
He said: "I've always believed myself to be from the streets in terms of football. I've always played on the streets with friends and still do now and again when I get time.
"That is where I learnt to play football. There was a lot of help along the way from the Everton academy but the majority of my football was learnt on the streets.
"I still go back and see friends where I am from and we have a kickaround. Everywhere we go, there is a ball. I'm obviously not running around much but we stand there and have a kick-around. Nobody is really fussed about who you are. I'm back there quite a lot. It's keepy-ups and messing around."
