Manchester United ace Wayne Rooney is being linked with a split from his agents.

The Daily Mail says Rooney's agent Paul Stretford has split from the football management business he founded, sparking the likelihood his star client will walk out in support.

Stretford has resigned from the Formation Group following "huge and irreconcilable differences".

Rooney, wife Coleen and world champion boxer Joe Calzaghe could all rejoin Stretford when he sets up another agency.

The Rooneys are almost certain to remain loyal.
