Manchester United ace Wayne Rooney admits he's been inspired by a quote from Australian swimming icon Ian Thorpe.

Thorpe is quoted on the wall of the stunning new hydrotherapy room at the new £100 million St George's Park football centre, which impressed Rooney.

"It was from Ian Thorpe," said Rooney, and while he could not quote the Australian swimming legend exactly, he liked the sentiment.

It says this: "Losing is not coming second. It's getting out of the water knowing you could have done better."
