Wayne Rooney admits he doesn't always see eye-to-eye with Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Rooney admits his form was affected by his Christmas row with boss Alex Ferguson.
The Manchester United striker said: "I was tense when I got back on the pitch and I believe it showed."
Roo was dropped and fined for his lethargic performance in training after a night out on Boxing Day.
He then put in a lack-lustre display when restored to the starting line-up for the 3-0 defeat at Newcastle last week.
Asked if he had disputed the fine, Rooney also told The Sun: "Yes - but for reasons that I can't make public, I accepted it."
Rooney sung Ferguson's praises by insisting the United chief was the biggest influence he has had in his career.
He confirmed his row with the boss is now over by calling Fergie "the greatest present that life has given me."
"Life in a dressing room, between players, between us and the coach, between us and loads of people who don't seem to matter, it's continuous confrontation. At times it can be harsh." But he admitted they do not always see eye-to-eye. He said: "You can't always live in harmony. Football is made up of conflict.
