Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is expected to be named PFA Player of the Year tonight.
Rooney, whose own vote went to his chief rival Didier Drogba of Chelsea, has scored 34 goals for United this season although he missed yesterday's Premier League win against Tottenham with a groin injury.
He said: "I voted for Cesc Fabregas for the Young Player and Drogba for the senior award.
"I think this has been my best season so far. I've scored a lot of goals and I think overall my play has been good. It has definitely been my most prolific season in front of goal."
