Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is in contact with Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, it has been revealed. The Daily Star says representatives of the United ace have told Mourinho Rooney would love to work with him.
Arsenal are also looking at putting a package together to land the England striker, who would command wages of around £250,000 a week.
But it is understood Rooney - who fell out with United boss Sir Alex Ferguson last season and has a cool relationship with new manager David Moyes - prefers the prospect of working with the Special One to Arsene Wenger.
A source close to Mourinho declined to talk about the prospect of signing Rooney but did say: "Jose loves all the great players."
