Man Utd, AC Milan encouraged in sensational push for frustrated Real Madrid ace Ronaldo

Manchester United are being linked with a sensational move to re-sign Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo. Milan-based Mediaset, which is influenced by AC Milan patron and Italy PM Silvio Berlusconi, says United and the Rossoneri are circling Real for the former World Player of the Year.

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson dined with Jorge Mendes, Ronaldo's agent, in Madrid last week after taking in the first-leg of the Champions League semi.

And only yesterday, Berlusconi declared - again - that he would love to bring Ronaldo to Italy.

The Portuguese superstar has managed to win only one trophy in two seasons at Real and the Madrid giants' move for Udinese star Alexis Sanchez has sparked speculation that they see the Chilean as a direct replacement for Ronaldo.

Ferguson, like Berlusconi, has also spoken of bringing Ronaldo back to Old Trafford. The Scot refused to rule out the prospect last week, only declaring it as "difficult", but certainly not impossible.
