Bastian Schweinsteiger believes Manchester United are indeed a bigger club than Bayern Munich.
The 30-year-old midfielder this week completed a £14.4million transfer from the Bundesliga champions to Old Trafford and was quick to suggest that he has now made his way to one of the world's biggest football clubs.
The German captain claimed: "United are more popular around the world. There is a difference and I can see that. Bayern Munich is a big club but United are bigger."
Schweinsteger also admits he is excited to play in the Premier League and especially under boss Louis van Gaal, who the German played for in Bavaria.
"He craves success and if he doesn't get it it makes him even more hungry for it. I know maybe sometimes he is not so easy, but what I love is that he always wants the best," he added.
