Man Utd £100M spending spree funded from Qatar

Manchester United's shock spending spree this summer is being funded from Qatar, it has been claimed.

The Daily Star Sunday says Sir Alex Ferguson has agreed £60m of deals already and United's spending could hit £100m with Inter Milan's Wesley Sneijder still a target.

A top football wheeler-dealer said last night: "United's transfer business is the talk of the game.

''And the big question is where all this money is coming from, given the level of debt at the club. The level of spending is eye-opening.

''The word is that this is money from Qatar, where the royal family want to buy United from the Glazers.''
