Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson won't sanction Darius Vassell's departure until his signing spree is complete.

Eriksson, who yesterday rejected a £1million offer from Turkish club Besiktas for former England striker Vassell, said: "I don't think we want to sell players at the moment, we should try to acquire players.

"When we have the final squad we will decide."

But Vassell, 27, who scored only 15 goals in 77 appearances for City, is unlikely to figure in their plans following the arrival of £8.8m Rolando Bianchi.

He is currently on City's tour of Sweden, and may eventually be allowed to go for as little as £1.5m.
