Manchester City's summer transfer plans have been put into a spin over Sven Goran Eriksson's imminent departure.

The Manchester Evening News says until owner Thaksin Shinawatra makes it clear who will be the boss next season, recruitment is largely on hold though it hasn't stopped agents bombarding the former Thai Prime Minister and his associates with potential targets.

It is unclear who from the football side of the club will assess the merits and worth of those players with the big worry that a new man will want a completely different style of play, and therefore rip up the scouting reports and lengthy wish-list compiled by the current scouting team.
