Kasper Schmeichel has returned to Manchester City following his loan spell at Cardiff.
The 21-year-old Dane made 14 appearances in the Championship for the Bluebirds but turned down the chance to stay on for two further league matches.
The stopper would have been unavailable for Saturday's FA Cup third round clash away to Chasetown under the terms of his loan agreement.
