Man City's Samaras has dig at Pearce

Manchester City striker Georgios Samaras has taken a swipe at Stuart Pearce for his problems last season.

Samaras now believes the way new boss Sven Goran Eriksson likes to play the game may help him. He said: "We're playing in a different style and it's better for me.

"We're playing more football, more of a passing game, more to feet like the game I learned in Holland."

But Samaras says Eriksson has to start playing him as an out-and-out striker if he wants to get the best out of him.

On occasions Pearce - and Sven on Tuesday - played him out wide.

Samaras said: "I'm not a left-sided midfielder, I'm a striker and I like to play there.

"The gaffer makes the decisions. I accept that and I play my game."
