Manchester City signing Robinho has been accused of showing a "lack of respect" towards his former Real Madrid teammates.

"Robinho has made a really serious mistake," Real chief Predrag Mijatovic told Real Madrid TV. "A player like Robinho, who is a great player, if he publicly declares he doesn't want to play here it shows a lack of respect to his team-mates, the coach and the fans.

"Personally, from the very start when I realised his situation would be complicated, I decided I had to sell him. It was a big sale, and now I wish him the best of luck at the team he ended up with."
