Man City's Richards ready for Russia fans

Manchester City's England defender Micah Richards says he's ready for any sort of racist abuse coming from Russian fans on Wednesday night.

"I had racial abuse as a youngster in this country, not particularly in football, but life in general," he said.

"You just have to get on with it. If people want to get into that, then that's their business, but I'm just looking to get three points out of the game. People will try things to try to upset you but I just concentrate on the game."

In keeping with the message coming out of the England camp, Richards is also dismissive of the potential effect on the game of the artificial surface in the Luzhniki.

"It might be a little bit of an advantage to them, but hopefully, with the players we have, it won't matter," he said.
