Manchester City defender Micah Richards has welcomed their UEFA Cup draw with EB/Streymur.

"It's something new for the boys and something we're very much looking forward to," said the 20-year-old.

"We missed out on the chance for Europe a few years back when Robbie Fowler missed a penalty against Middlesbrough, but this time, whether it's lucky or not we're in there via the Fair Play League.

"I think all in all though for our efforts at the beginning of the season and the way we played all season we deserve to be in there. It can only be good for the club and hopefully we can have a good run in the Uefa Cup.

"It should be good fun and all the lads will be looking forward to that."
