Man City's Richards desperate for England return

Crocked Manchester City defender Micah Richards is desperate to be involved with Fabio Capello's new-look England squad.

"I hope to be ready to challenge for an England place next time they play," he declared. "Wes Brown played at right back in the last game and I say 'well done' to him, because he has been playing well for United.

"But in my mind if I play to my best when I get back there is no reason why I can't win a place back.

"It will be a challenge and that makes it all the better as far as I am concerned. I like a challenge and it is not good to be complacent when you are only 19 years old.

"There is Glen Johnson in the mix also and I wish him luck, too, because he is a very good player but hopefully I will get back in there and City and the fans can be proud of me."
