Manchester City midfielder James Milner says England's players enjoyed playing for coach Roy Hodgson.

Hodgson had just weeks to set to his team for this tournament and Milner reckons the former Liverpool and West Brom manager should take plenty of credit for the way the team played.

"We don't want to make excuses and we still don't. The manager changes and done a great job," said Milner. "The lads have enjoyed working with him at this tournament and hopefully there is a lot more tournaments to come."
