Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott accepts he must take a 50 per cent pay-cut to stay in the Premier League.
The Mirror says Lescott, 31, wants to stay in the domestic top flight - and is prepared to halve his wages to make himself more affordable.
The Birmingham-born defender sees his £90,000-a-week deal with the newly-crowned champions officially come to an end next month.
He is wanted by Aston Villa, who he supported as a boy, West Ham United and Hull City - but his huge Etihad salary threatened to put him beyond their reach.
