Manchester City midfielder Stephen Ireland admits they should have "finished off" their UEFA Cup tie with Aalborg last night.

City won the first-leg 2-0 and Ireland lamented: "We should have finished the game off here.

"When we go there we have to be clever and not concede too early and get on the back foot, but we've done well away from home in Europe this season.

"I think we're strong and peaking at the right time of the season. We're feeling confident going there."
