Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson wants midfielder Stephen Ireland to again commit himself to the Republic of Ireland.

Eriksson said: "We at the club are doing everything we can to help Stephen because he is very, very talented. But I also think it would be good for him to get back into international football.

Ireland are going to play a friendly against Brazil in February and it would be good to see him taking on his club-mate Elano."
