Man City's Dickov: No rift with Eriksson

Departing Manchester City striker Paul Dickov insists he has no grudge against Sven Goran Eriksson after failing to make an impact last season.

"After Stuart (Pearce) left and Sven arrived, I felt I had a decent pre-season and I was a little bit disappointed that I didn't get my chance though I completely understood that he had a lot of money to spend and wanted to spend it on his own players," said the Scot.

"I still learned a lot from him because he was a great person as a manager and I think he appreciated what I brought to the club.

"Sven and I got on well. We had a lot of time for each other and even when I had gone on loan he still phoned me up a couple of times to ask me about various things. That was nice and he was one of the people who encouraged me to get my coaching badges."
