Manchester City fullback Vedran Corluka has urged fans to cool their expectations this season.

The Croatia defender told City's website: "We must be realistic and not expect to be in the top four, but we are a good team and should not be ashamed of that. The 'top four' teams are better than us, but they must prove that out on the field.

"We can aim for the top six or seven, but Portsmouth are a good side as well so a couple of teams could break through and I hope that City are one of them."
