Manchester City striker Valeri Bojinov was delighted with his goal in the friendly against Stockport last week.
Bojinov is showing great progress in preseason training after missing last season with a knee injury and told mcfc.co.uk: "It was good and for me it's very important because this is my first game with the first team for almost one year. I'm very happy.
"It was a very hard and very strong game against Stockport. They were a good team and wanted to prove themselves because not every day do they play against City or Liverpool [as they did the week before].
"So for them it was important and it was a good game, but it was crucial for me to play and to score."
He added: "Now I am hungry for goals and to win and progress. We have a new boss and I like Mark Hughes, so everything depends on me, if I train, play well and score then the boss will see this."
