Man City's Barry wants to forget Liverpool saga

Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry says his transfer saga with Liverpool is now buried in the past.

In an interview with Voetbal International, Barry was asked about his failed move to Liverpool.

"I would rather not talk about that stuff," replied Barry. "Now I just look forward. Not just now, this season, but also in the years ahead of me. I want to give myself the chance to play in a team that wins prizes.

"The way City is trying to grow quickly, for me, was a major reason to say 'yes'.

"The club is in very fast forward and attracting guys like Tevez, Adebayor and Santa Cruz has everyone in football realising that City really are serious. But it's not just the new players, there is much talent here.

"The team of last season was good enough to finish ninth and now the challenge is to make a big step forward."
