Manchester City midfielder Jack Rodwell admits the World Cup is a big target for him this season.

With the tournament less than a year away, Rodwell is determined to stay in Roy Hodgson's England plans.

"It was a good boost for me to know that he's at least looking at me," he said.

"The World Cup has got to be a goal, but I've got to give myself half a chance by staying fit. If I can get in the team and play every week then you never know."
