Shay Facey has implored New York City FC to bounce back from their disappointing derby defeat at the hands of New York Red Bulls.

NYCFC succumbed to a 2-0 loss to rivals the Red Bulls over the weekend and the result was most certainly very disappointing for the new MLS franchise.

Manchester City youngster Facey, who is on loan in New York, was on the losing side during the game and has now urged his side to bounce back with a win against DC United on Thursday.

Facey said: "We had a few strong spells attacking and going forward. We created quite a few chances, but couldn't put them away and they came back to bite us in the end. That's the way it goes sometimes.

"We have got to get over the defeat and pick ourselves up as soon as possible. DC are a strong team, high up in the standings. We have to get the mind right and the body right, and it is a must win game for us at Yankee Stadium on Thursday."
