Manchester City are ready to drop their pursuit of Liverpool defender Dan Agger.

The Telegraph says City's interest in the Agger is unlikely to go any further following the Anfield club's rejection of a £20m offer for the Danish centre-half.

With Liverpool keen to raise as much as £30m for the 27-year-old, City are ready to move their sights elsewhere in their search for defensive reinforcements.
