Man City won't cave into Sturridge contract demands

Manchester City are refusing to cave into the demands of teenage striker Danny Sturridge.

Manchester City are refusing to cave into the demands of teenage striker Danny Sturridge.

The Mirror says City are set to offer Sturridge a take-it-or-leave contract worth £30,000 a week to keep him.

Sturridge, 19, who has been monitored by Chelsea and Aston Villa over the past year, is out of contract at the end of the season and can leave as a free agent.

When he took over at Eastlands, boss Mark Hughes was furious to learn Sturridge had not been offered a contract extension despite being in the final year of his deal.

It means City face losing the £4million-rated striker for nothing unless he signs. His advisers asked for around £75,000 a week.
