Manchester City won't break the bank for Samuel Eto'o.

The Daily Star says City insiders say they will not be held to ransom by striker Eto'o. Barca had accepted a City offer of £25m but Eto'o appears to be playing off one club against the other.

His agent Josep Maria Mesalles said: "In theory, he wants to play in the Champions League with Barcelona - but if City have an offer accepted, he would be delighted to go there!"

A City source said: "We have made our offer and will not be held to ransom."
