Man City winger Silva relishing busy Christmas programme

Manchester City winger David Silva has no problem playing through the festive period.

In his native Spain, Barcelona and Real Madrid have pulled well away from the chasing pack as La Liga shuts down until the new year.

But in England there's no let up to the action with several teams chasing the title.

"Barcelona and Real Madrid are going well and have built up quite a lead," said Silva.

"In England it is far more hard fought. You could have any number of teams getting up there near the top.

"That makes for a more entertaining and enjoyable league."

Silva also denied that City's highly paid stars couldn't hack the harsh weather, having missed out on the chance to top the table after losing 2-1 at home to Everton last Monday.

"It was very cold when we played our last few away games; the coldest it has been," said Silva.

"At Fulham we were very good and won comfortably. The cold suits us fine."
