Silva is adamant the striker will continue where he left off in Poland and Ukraine, and that the acquisition of creative midfielders Eden Hazard and Oscar will work in Torres’ favour.
Silva told the Sunday Mirror: “I have heard good things about Hazard, although the game is faster in England than in France. He will need time to adjust, but he will still be very dangerous.
“Juan Mata will be a good partner for him and will be important in helping him to settle on the pitch, and those two players can generate many chances for Fernando. Chelsea have moved well in the transfer market, although that does not guarantee success.”
