Manchester City star Jesus Navas is convinced that his side should have been handed a penalty during their 2-1 defeat against Everton at Goodison Park on Wednesday night.
City were beaten by Everton in the first leg of the Capital One Cup semi-finals but the away side were left hard done by due to a couple of questionable refereeing decisions.
Navas not being awarded a penalty despite being clearly tripped by Kevin Mirallas in the second period was arguably the incident which City were left bemoaning the most and following the game, the Spanish winger has stated that referee Robert Madley should have definitely given his side the spot kick.
Navas said: "It was definitely penalty but the referee didn't see it. That's a pity but there is nothing we can do about it."
Navas came off the bench to equaliser for City with a well-taken goal in the 76th minute, cancelling out Ramiro Funes Mori's opener, before Romelu Lukaku won it for the Toffees two minutes later.
