Adam Johnson loves the idea of a first Champions League campaign with Manchester City.
The Manchester City midfielder was 10 years old when he sat in front of the TV with his family in 1997 to watch Newcastle's European adventures.
Johnson, 23, said: "I remember Faustino Asprilla's hat-trick against Barcelona in the 3-2 win. A lot of games stick in my mind like Manchester United beating Bayern.
"The Champions League is the biggest club competition in the world, playing massive games against the best teams, that's what you dream about as a kid."
City are fourth in the Premier League, seven points clear of fifth-placed Liverpool.
England star Johnson added: "We still have work to do but it's ours to lose now."
